Today I announce the appointment of Ms Robyn Mudie as Australia's next High Commissioner to Singapore.

Australia and Singapore share a longstanding, multifaceted partnership founded on deep strategic trust and underpinned by our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

In 2025, we marked 60 years of diplomatic relationships and launched an ambitious and forward-looking Comprehensive Strategic Partnership 2.0, guiding our engagement for the decade ahead across defence, security, trade, climate, energy and education.

We work closely together on regional security as longstanding defence and security partners, including under the Five Power Defence Arrangements.

We also share deep economic links. Singapore is Australia's largest trading partner in Southeast Asia, and we continue to increase our trade and investment under Invested: Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.

Ms Mudie is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and was most recently First Assistant Secretary, Southeast Asia Regional and Mainland Division. Ms Mudie has previously served as Australia's Ambassador to Vietnam, and High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives.

I thank outgoing High Commissioner Allaster Cox for his contributions to advancing Australia's interests in Singapore since 2023.
