Today I announce the appointment of Mr Paul Harrington as Australia's next High Commissioner to Niue.
Australia and Niue share a warm and friendly partnership underpinned by strong community links and a shared commitment to deliver on Niue's development priorities.
As members of the Pacific family and the Pacific Islands Forum, Australia and Niue will continue to work together to realise the Pacific leaders' vision of a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
Australia is one of only two countries with a permanent diplomatic presence in Niue, demonstrating the strength of our relationship.
Mr Harrington is a career public servant and has previously served overseas in the Philippines, Colombia, and Egypt.
I thank outgoing High Commissioner Olivia Phongkham for her contributions to advancing Australia's interests in Niue since 2024.
