Visit to Myanmar
Iwill visit Myanmar on 12 and 13 December to meet with senior governmentministers, including State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.
InMyanmar I will visit Yangon, Nay Pyi Taw and Sittwe.
Australiais committed to working with Myanmar and regional and other partners towards along-term and durable solution to the crisis in Rakhine State. Australia haspreviously raised our serious concerns in relation to the situation in RakhineState, including the outcomes and recommendations of the United Nations FactFinding Mission.
Whilein Myanmar I will meet with Government ministers and international humanitarianpartners, and I will discuss Australia's contribution to supporting the basicneeds of the 129,000 internally displaced Rohingya.
Aspartners in the Indo-Pacific, Australia and Myanmar have a longstandingrelationship, including on regional priorities through ASEAN and the East AsiaSummit.
