Iwill visit China from 7-8 November to attend the 5th Australia-China Foreignand Strategic Dialogue, hosted by my Chinese counterpart, State Councillor andForeign Minister Wang Yi.
Iam looking forward to discussions with Minister Wang to enhance bilateralunderstanding and cooperation across the full range of Australia's interests, spanning strategic, economic and people-to-people connections.
Thedialogue will build on our discussions in the margins of the United NationalGeneral Assembly Leaders Week in late September.
TheAustralian Government is committed to a constructive relationship with China, founded on shared interests and mutual respect.
Cooperationwith China under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is a priority of thehighest order for Australia, as was made clear in our Foreign Policy WhitePaper.
Oureconomic partnership continues to strengthen following the implementation ofthe China-Australia Free Trade Agreement, with trade, direct investment, andtwo-way education and tourism all at record levels.
Thedialogue is an opportunity to discuss how we can strengthen cooperation andensure we continue to advance regional security and prosperity in this periodof rapid change.
