Further deepening and broadening Australia's bilateral economic, political and strategic interests will be the key focus of my visit to China on 9 and 10 April.
This will be the fourth occasion I have attended the Bo'ao Forum, which provides an opportunity for government, business and other leaders to connect and to shape views on key developments affecting our region.
I will also join Prime Minister Tony Abbott in the annual leaders' meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The leaders' meeting is a central pillar in the bilateral relationship, providing strategic guidance for our engagement across the economic, political, social and cultural sectors.
A highlight of my visit will be meeting with my Chinese counterpart Wang Yi to discuss key aspects of the bilateral relationship. This builds on our productive discussions in The Hague recently.
China is Australia's largest trading partner with two-way trade in goods and services worth around $150 billion. We are working closely together in regional fora and will use our respective chairing of APEC and G20 this year to build cooperative links on the regional agenda.
