Australia-Indonesia Institute grants

TodayI announce the recipients of four additional grants funded by the Australia-IndonesiaInstitute 2017-18 grants program.

TheAustralia-Indonesia Institute grants program strengthens links betweenAustralia and Indonesia by supporting activities that promote mutualunderstanding and stronger relations. These four grants fund innovativeprojects and initiatives that deepen Australia's relationship with Indonesiathrough education, research, the arts and young people.

The four successfulprojects are:

  • CharlesDarwin University will work with Indonesian partners to integrate digitaltechnology into professional development programs for teachers in Indonesia;
  • Theestablishment of a partnership between the University of Sydney and theIndonesian Ministry of Finance to develop the Australia-Indonesia VirtualLab - an innovative platform to connect Australian and Indonesianresearchers;
  • ConnectingEast Arnhem Land and Indonesia through a series of performing arts workshopsoperated by Suara Indonesia Dance in Yirrkala in the Northern Territory;and
  • Aninnovative UniBRIDGE project will bring together Australian and Indonesianuniversity students for real-time language and cultural exchanges online.

Fundingfor the four projects is valued at $93,000 in total. These grants are inaddition to the 11 Australia-Indonesia Institute grants announced in October2017
