2017 New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants
Today we announce the opening of applications for the 2017 Mobility Grants of the New Colombo Plan, the Australian Government's signature initiative to enhance knowledge of the Indo-Pacific among young Australians.
In 2017, the New Colombo Plan will provide around $20 million in Mobility Grants, which are awarded to Australian universities to support undergraduate students to study and undertake work-based experiences in the Indo-Pacific.
The personal and professional relationships that students build during their New Colombo Plan experiences allow them to develop first-hand knowledge of business in the Indo-Pacific region, maximising their job-readiness and giving them essential skills they can apply throughout their careers.
The New Colombo Plan will be transformational, deepening Australia's relationships with business, political and academic communities in our region.
Over its first three years the New Colombo Plan is supporting more than 10,000 students to undertake short-term and semester-length study, research, internships and work experiences in the Indo-Pacific.
The New Colombo Plan is open to Australian undergraduate students across all disciplines, from all universities.
Further information on the Mobility Grants is available at www.dfat.gov.au/new-colombo-plan or through university international offices and faculties.
