Australians will be one of the largest groups of fans and supporters travelling to South Africa for a month of world class football and to cheer on the Socceroos.
This will be the most significant sporting event ever held in Africa.
Australia wishes South Africa well for what I am confident will be a tremendously successful FIFA World Cup.
We are expecting over 10,000 Australians to visit South Africa during the tournament, with over 43,000 tickets sold to Australians.
In order to ensure everyone has a great trip, there is some important safety and security information to know before you go.
Football fans heading to South Africa, should visit the Smartraveller website, to read about safety and security in South Africa.

All football fans should make sure they organise comprehensive travel insurance before the big kick-off.
