Australia Condemns Train Bombs in Northern India
The Australian Government condemns the horrific bombing of the Friendship Express in northern India, which killed at least 65 people and injured many others. I express profound sympathy and support for the victims, both Indian and Pakistani, of this cowardly terrorist attack.
The bombing comes a day ahead of a three-day visit to India by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Mr Kasuri, and presumably was intended to undermine India-Pakistan amity. I call on all parties in India and Pakistan to renounce acts of violence and ensure that the composite dialogue continues unhindered.
No Australians are reported among the dead or injured.
