Australian officials arrived in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, on Monday
13 May (US time) to interview Australian citizens being held there.
The visiting team of ASIO and Australian Federal Police investigators
and an official from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
(DFAT) will see both David Hicks and Mamdouh Habib. The families'
lawyers have been notified.
The visit will advance the Australian investigation into the activities
of Mr Hicks and Mr Habib. In addition, the team will assess and
report on the welfare of both men.
